HSM Engineering manufactures safety critical components and assemblies for the UK defence supply chain. We are JOSCAR registered, Cyber Essentials Plus certified and MoD approved across a range of defence manufacturing categories from naval marine propulsion to munitions support, protective equipment, and military fabrications.

Naval Marine

HSM Engineering manufactures precision components for two of the most significant naval propulsion programmes in the UK fleet.

MT30 — the Rolls-Royce marine gas turbine powering the Royal Navy’s Type 26 frigates and Type 45 destroyers. We manufacture safety critical components to programme requirements under Rolls-Royce supply chain approval.

WR21 — the intercooled recuperated marine gas turbine. HSM has supplied precision components into this programme for Rolls-Royce Naval Marine.

Safety Critical Fabrications

HSM Engineering manufactures a range of safety critical fabricated assemblies for defence applications, all produced and documented to MoD approval requirements.

Bomb prevention bins — MoD approved safety critical containment units manufactured to controlled specifications.

Explosive testing containers — fabricated containment equipment for controlled explosive testing environments, manufactured to exacting dimensional and structural requirements.

Military lighting fabrications — production and aftermarket spares supply for in-service military lighting systems.

GE electronic fabricated boxes — aftermarket and production fabricated enclosures for GE electronic systems.

Land-based ground support equipment — fabricated structures and assemblies supporting military land operations.

Specialist Cutting

HSM Engineering provides specialist waterjet cutting and laser cutting services for defence materials including Kevlar and armour plating. We operate as a subcontract cutting specialist to other defence manufacturers requiring accredited, precision cutting of high-performance materials.

Kevlar waterjet cutting — precision profiling of ballistic protection materials without heat-affected zones or delamination.

Armour plating waterjet cutting — accurate profiling of hardened steel and composite armour materials to tight dimensional tolerances.
